It is composed of flattened sacs which are stacked with each other, and associated transport vesicles. together they are known as golgi apparatus. it has a cis face towards endoplasmic reticulum to which new vesicles coming from ER combine and a trans face from where vesicles are separated and travel where they are needed.
Golgi apparatus is responsible fro modification, packaging and transport of materials.
