To calculate the acceleration we use the formula,

Here, [tex]v_{f}[/tex] is the final velocity of the car and [tex]v_{i}[/tex] is the initial velocity of the car and t is time .
Given [tex]v_{i} =30 m/s[/tex] and [tex]t= 9 s[/tex].
The final velocity [tex]v_{f} =0[/tex] , because car comes to stop.
Substituting these values in above formula we get,
[tex]a=\frac{0 m/s-30m/s}{9}[/tex]
[tex]a=3.3 m/s^{2}[/tex]
Here, acceleration is negative because car is decelerated.
