The Roman Empire divided into two areas in 395 A.D., and whereas the Western Roman Empire fell in 476 A.D., the Eastern Roman Empire survived 1,000 years until it fell to the Ottomans in 1453. The Roman Empire was one of the powerful empires in the history of the world. It was very evolved for its time.
• Holy Roman Empire
The Holy Roman Empire was a loose conglomerate in central European countries that established between 800-1806. Frankish King Charlemagne turned out to be the first Holy Roman Emperor. What is now the countries of Austria, France, Poland, and Germany are members of the Holy Roman Empire. The people groups in the Holy Roman Empire were varied, and it was astounding that this empire could survive for so long given its fragmented nature.
• British Empire
The British Empire was the largest kingdom in history, ruling over a quarter of the world. The British Empire began to emerge at the end of the 15th century and is usually considered to live until the end of the 20th century. At its peak, the British Empire ruled over some areas in seven continents. Australia, Indian, and Eastern North America (before the American Revolution) were prominent and valuable British colonies.
In the New World, the British colonial agenda contradicted the French and Spanish colonial agendas, which led to recurring wars, such as the Seven Years War (Indian and French Wars) and the Jenkin’s Ear War.
