The advantage of agreeing to the demands of the nobles is that it would limit discontent from the citizens given that the Magna Carta contained certain important principles that limited the power of the English monarch over all his English subjects. A disadvantage is that it would curtail his power. This is because it implied the idea that monarchs had no right to rule in any way the pleased but to govern according to law.
