Since we know that AC = CB is half the length of AB, we can write that in equation form. The goal is to determine the length of [tex]CB = AC = 2x+2[/tex]

[tex] 2x+2 =\frac{1}{2} (8x) [/tex]

[tex]2x+2 = 4x[/tex]

[tex]2x = 2[/tex]

[tex]x=1[/tex]

Now that we know the value of [tex]x[/tex], we can find the value of [tex]CB = 2x+2[/tex]:

[tex]CB = 2x+2[/tex]

[tex]CB = 2(1)+2 [/tex]

[tex]CB = 4[/tex]
