When one listens to the dialogue of a portion of the play, it will help in a better way to understand Kaufman's use of understatement and parody as listening to the dialogue helped understand the characters emotions.
What is parody?
A funny parody of a well-known song was created by an artistic or literary work where the author's or work's style is closely reproduced for humorous value or in mockery. Parody mimics, emphasises, and draws attention to specific elements, characters, or story points that are unconvincing, absurd, or open to other types of criticism.
A humorous imitation of another work is called a parody. It just mocks or makes fun of one piece of art. An illustration of a Pride and Prejudice spoof is Pride and Prejudice With Zombies. Instead of mocking a particular piece, a parody targets a genre.
Therefore, when one listens to the parody, it will help understand the characters emotions.
