The three vertices of △ABC are in quadrant I. If △ABC is reflected in the x-axis, its image will lie in quadrant IV

Quadrant I is the top right section of a graph. The x-axis is the bold horizontal line usually in the middle of the graph. If you reflect a shape over it, it means you flip the figure across it to the other side.
The opposite side of Quadrant I is Quadrant IV, so the image of triangle ABC will lie in Quadrant IV.
