we are given

[tex] (8^9)p = 8^{18} [/tex]

we can isolate p on any one side

[tex] \frac{(8^9)p}{8^9} =\frac{ 8^{18} }{8^9} [/tex]

[tex] p = 8^{18}*8^{-9} [/tex]

[tex] p = 8^{18-9} [/tex]

now, we can subtract exponents

and we get

[tex] p = 8^{9} [/tex]...........Answer
