First find the area of one triangle using Heron's formula:

$A=\sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}$

where:

$s=\frac{a+b+c}{2}=\frac{9+28+35}{2}=\frac{72}{2}=36$

Thus

$A=\sqrt{36(36-9)(36-28)(36-35)}$

$A=\sqrt{36(27)(8)(1)}$

$A=\sqrt{7776}=88.18$

Then the total area is:

$A_{total}=88.18 \times 16 = 1410.88$

and the total costs is:

$C=A \times r$

$C=1410.88cm^{2} \times \frac{50p}{cm^{2}}$

$C=\£705.44$
