Mansa Musa was a devoted Muslim and famous for his Hajji-- a procession with 60 000 people, 12 000 salves carrying 4 pounds of gold bars each, 80 camels carrying 50-300 pounds of gold dust. He fed the entire caravan and gave away gold to the poor he met along the way. He built a mosque every Friday (Muslim Holy Day) . He also sent pupils to Islamic Universities.
