Hey!
There are many ways. Here are 2 of them:
Divide the numerator by the denominator. You will get a decimal. Move the decimal point 2 places to the right and add a percent sign.
[tex] 3 \div 5 = 0.6 [/tex]
[tex] 0.6 \rightarrow 60 \% [/tex]
Multiply 3/5 by 100 and add the % sign.
[tex] \frac{3}{5} \times 100 = \frac{300}{5} = 60 [/tex]
[tex] 60 \rightarrow 60 \% [/tex]
Your answer is 60%
Good luck and hope this helps!
To turn a fraction into a percent, we must first turn it into a fraction and then multiply by 100. To find a number as a fraction, we can divide the numerator by the denominator. 3 divided by 5 is 0.6 (since 5 goes into 3 0.6 times). Now, we have to multiply by 100. A cool rule when multiplying by 100 is to move the decimal point 2 points to the right. Moving the decimal point two points to the right, we get that 3/5 is equal to 60%.
