Eagly’s social psychological theory of gender pertains to sex similarity and differences in the social behavior. The key principle of the theory is that similarities and differences arise primarily due to distribution in the social roles of men and women within society. However, due to socialization and formation of gender roles, the behavior of women and men supports and sustain division of labor.
