After the war of 1812, the U.S had now defeated the British twice (The first time being the American Revolution). It created a strong sense of patriotism and nationalism from being able to take down such a major power. It did not isolate them from England since you still had treaties like the Treaty of Ghent which settled disputes over the territories. Neither States' rights or the right to bear arms played a factor in the war at all.
