The point-slope formula is: [tex] y-y_1=m(x-x_1) [/tex]

We know the slope is -4 and the ordered pair [tex] (x_1,y_1) [/tex] is (-3,1)

So plug it in: [tex] y-1=-4(x-(-3)) [/tex]

[tex] y-1=-4(x+3) [/tex]

That is the point slope form
