Gregorian chants was a tradition of the west in the Roman Catholic Church that was a monophonic, unaccompanied sacred song. (see picture 1)
Minstrels: was a type of instrument similar to a present-day guitar, in that it had multiple strings and a rounder base. Typically it was used during festivals and other celebrations. (see picture 2)
Troubadours: Also a stringed instrument, it was usually used unaccompanied, and were great for traveling, allowing it and musicians to influence a wide range of territory.
