The powerful muscle which the infant develops during their nursing phase is the buccinator. This is the same muscle which is also been used by the adults in order to whistle or even can be used to blow a trumphet.
The buccinator muscle is a flat and a thin muscle which the nursing infant uses from their wall of the cheek. In adults it act and works as a facial nerve while in the nursing infants it act as a suckling reflex.
It is one of the important muscle in infants & adults.
