Imagine that a large shopping center is being built near your school. Until now, the land was basically untouched. There was a clump of trees and a large grass field. How might the shopping center affect your local ecosystem?

It would negatively effect the environment since it has been untouched until now. Maybe the best wording would be "Shell shocked". Just sudden industrialization after being natural this entire time. It probably would make animals lose their homes and things like that.
