rodents to rodent eating snakes is 13 to 3 . if there are 4,000 snakes in the area abouy how many rodents are there .

Respuesta :

i believe that the answer is 17332.9 although i may be wrong. i divided 4,00 by 3 to find the number i should multiply 13 by to find the amount of rodents equivalent to the amount of snakes. i got 1333.33 repeating. i then multiplied 13 by 1333.33 and this is what i got. 17332.9

Answer:

If there are 4,000 snakes in the area then there will be approximately 17334 rodents.

Step-by-step explanation:

To answer the question, we note that the ratio of rodents to rodent eating snakes is 13 to 3. That is

There are 13 rodents for every ≡ 3 snakes or  dividing both sides by 3 we have

13/3 rodents for every 1 snake.

Therefore, multiplying both sides by 4,000, we have

4,000 × 13/3 rodents for 4,000× 1 snake

17,333.3 rodents for every 4,000 snakes

4,000 snakes are present where there are ≈ 17334 rodents
