he growth of suburbs offered many opportunities for entrepreneurs . Post WWII there was an expansion of population in Canada and the United States, as well as around the world. Therefore, there was a demand for more housing. Developers began building thousands of homes outside the cities where it was cheaper and were nicknamed"bedroom communities". Each community in the suburb was like a little town of its own. It had its own schools, parks, and places of worship. The building of suburbs also built a new set of values,which included the vision of the traditional family that usually had three to four children, the emphasized traditional femininity,the new gadgets for housework, and the father's role in bringing home the bacon. Suburbs became the new glamorous countryside. The suburbs were very popular do to the government giving the GI bill to vets of the World War II and Korean war which helped them with mortgage and college.
