f(x) + g(x) = (-2x + 8)+ 3x
f(x) + g(x) = -2x + 8 + 3x   Combine like terms.
f(x) + g(x) = x + 8
f(x) + g(x) = (f+g)(x) = x + 8
(f + g)(-1) = -1 + 8
(f + g)(-1) = 7 <<<<<<<< Answer
