Areas that are just beginning to industrialize are distinguished by an increased wealth, in comparison to the past, but an insecurity of the future, which is present in the industrialized nations. This means that people have more children - they can afford to, and the children don't die of hunger, but they don't yet limit the number of their children as they would if their future was secure.
