Most people in the United States would not have drinking water.

The Ogallala aquifer plays an important role in the farming of plants. For many years, it has been utilized without taking into consideration the long-term influence of the source getting empty. Many farmers are increasing the size of their farmlands in order to achieve bigger profits. Various plants planted are also very demanding of water, for example, commercial plants like almonds.
