Adra loves ice cream--really loves ice cream. That's why there only one place she goes for ice cream. She goes to Freeze Up, an ice cream shop that lets you get as many scoops as you want. It costs $1.25 for the first scoop and another $0.60 for each additional scoop after the first. Write an equation modeling how much she has to pay for her ice cream based on how many scoops she gets.

Respuesta :

scoop $
1 1.25
2 1.85
3 2.45

The first scoop costs more than the following scoops, so we subtract the cost of the other scoops from the cost of the first scoop:
1.25 - .60 = .65
So, no matter how many scoops Adra gets, she will always pay .65 in addition.

Therefore, the equation would be:
$0.65 + $0.60×(# of scoops)
Which is:
.65 + .6x
