In algebra, when doing index notation, if the denominator has a higher index value than the numerator, what would simplifying the answer be?
For example:

c² ÷ c³

Respuesta :

No matter what the indices are just follow the law of indices for division:

xᵃ  ÷  xᵇ  = xᵃ - ᵇ.    Most importantly the base x must be the same.

c² ÷ c³ = c² -³    = c^(-1)  =    1/c
