The minority groups especially the racial minority groups commonly experience what Gordon called “acculturation without integration”. Gordon argued acculturation without integration or Americanization without equality is a common situation in the United States. He also acknowledged that a successful acculturation does not guarantee that a group will begin the integration phase automatically that the dominant group may still exclude a minority group from its institutions and limit its opportunities.
