Garifuna is the Honduran tribe that occupies rural fishing villages. The Garifuna are descendants of Arawak, European, Island Carib, Central African, and West African people.

Garifuna was an ex-territory of the British colony and had gained independence from them through series of revolts.  Since their territory is located near the beach, the majority of the people in this tribe held the job as a fishermen. Fish such as tuna and sardines were among the top commodities produced by the tribes.
