Russia and Germany agreed to a non-aggression pact. It was considered a strange agreement as both Stalin and Hitler publicly insulted each other. Ultimately Hitler violated the pact and committed blitzkrieg against Russia, devastating their military. Russia joins the war as an Allied force.
