You can't have the log of a negative number. To prove my point, let's try rearranging this:
[tex]log_{6}(-1)=x \\ 6^{x} = -1 [/tex]
There is no exponent we could plug in for x that would give us -1. If it were positive 1, we could use 0.
There is no solution to this logarithm.
