Respuesta :

if you have a disease like this, it most likely affects your immune system, or your ability to fight off bacteria (that's what your white blood cells do). A person with aids most likely was sick with something simple that evolved into pneumonia because the white blood cell count was low (their immune system was down).

A person with AIDS may also have Pneumonia because their immunity is weak. AIDS attacks the white blood cells called CD4 and destroys them. Since the White blood cells have the role of fighting infections, a low white blood cell count leaves the body open to infections like pneumonia.

What is AIDS?

AIDS is short for Acquired Immuno-Deficiency Syndrome disease. It is an advanced stage of HIV that depletes the white blood cells which fight diseases.

When the white blood cells are weakened, the body will lack the strength to fight off infections like pneumonia.
