The use of steam is essential in most power plants. Water is heated and dispatched through a turbine creating thermal energy. Later on, it is converted to electricity. The steam enables the turbines to rotate which activates a generator, producing electricity.
The thermal energy (heat) is converted to electricity with a generator through a phenomenon called electromagnetic induction
