Dominant culture is defined as a cultural practice that is considered as the most influential within a particular, social or economic entity where multiple culture is present. It may be expressed through religious, social or political values or norms in a society.
Therefore, mainstream value like: the belief in God; notion of individuality; and valuing freedom are all part of the dominant culture that exist within the American society.
