Using an example like Christmas lights, I would say yes because normally a lot of them would go out if one light is broken.
They go out, in a series circuit all of the light bulbs are connected by a single wire, and when the light bulb gets removed it wouldn't be able to transfer the energy to the next light bulb.
The second part of that quiz is they stay lit, because all of the light bulbs are connected twice so if one is removed it will stay lit,
