The Union Army and Confederate troops mainly followed the Spotysylvania and Coldharbour route from the battle of the wilderness to the siege of Petersburg through the following routes:
i) From the wilderness to Spotsylvania: Union Army comprising of V Corps (Warren) and II Corps.
ii) The wilderness -Todd's Tavern -Spotsylvania: VI Corps and IX Corps (Burnside).
iii) Chancellorsville- Aldrich- Spotsylvania:  Confederate Army, Calvary divisions & Brigade, Rosser and I Corps.
iv) The wilderness-Corbin Bridge- Blockhouse Bridge- Spotsylvania.
