To find the total yards needed for 8 pillows, multiply 2/3 yard per pillow by 8 pillows.

= 2/3 * 8
multiply numerators; multiply denominators

= (2*8)/(3*1)

= 16/3
convert to a mixed number

= 5 1/3 yards needed


ANSWER: 5 1/3 yards is needed to make 8 pillows.
