Look for the clublike olfactory bulbs anteriorly, on the inferior surface of the frontal lobes of the cerebral hemispheres. Axons of olfactory neurons run from the nasal mucosa through the cribriform foramina of the ethmoid bone to synapse with the olfactory bulbs.
