Researchers keep at it; they found another new clinical diagnosis, Syndrome XY, and found that men receive the diagnosis at much higher rates compared to women. Syndrome XY is a little different than Syndrome X in that no treatment is believed to be effective, and therefore it is considered a lifelong condition with no hope of improvement. Researchers found that men who would have been diagnosed with Syndrome X were now being diagnosed with Syndrome XY, even though the symptom presentation was exactly the same. This is evidence of bias.
