Option #3: Interview a person (or people) in middle-late adulthood who is retiring or has been retired for some time. Between the ages of 60 and 70, most people retire from the jobs they have held for many years. Retirement is a major life event for men and some women in their late-adult years. The ease and impact of leaving their jobs and adjusting to a new life at home vary from person to person. The degree of personal satisfaction during retirement is also influenced by many factors, including the extent of preretirement planning, financial resources, hobbies and meaningful activities available, and the degree of involvement with people. In order to fully understand the impact of retirement on people, choose at least two retired individuals who are willing to be interviewed. Ask them the following questions: 1. How old are you and how long have you been retired? What kind of work did you do before retirement? Do you work part-time now?
