This project has two parts. Read the directions for each part carefully. You can choose to draw or use a computer program to complete your project. Part 1: Look in the encyclopedia online or a print version, and search the word Mexico. See how many new things you can learn about Pedro's home country. Write five interesting facts in your own words about what you've learned. Do not forget to include the author's name if available, the name of the book, web page, or article where you found your information. Part 2: If you were to meet a friend who was like Pedro, you could help your friend in several ways. One way you could help your friend would be to make a picture of an object, like a bicycle. Write the word bicycle under the picture. Create a sentence about the picture such as, "I ride a bicycle." Then, show the picture to your friend. You could then say the word and sentence under each picture to help your friend learn the word. Draw pictures of at least five things you think your friend would need to know. Print the name of the object under each picture. Write a short sentence including the word. Share your word cards with a friend or family member. If you're lucky, your friend who is like Pedro may do the same for you! Submit both parts of your project.
