Embedded Assessment: Throughout history, human life and its value have been defined by many metrics: economic utility, moral standing, educational attainment, demographic classification, social class, etc. Using at least three texts in this unit, explain how these authors have addressed the question of human value (and/or what humans should value). In each case, pay attention to the author/character’s historical or situational context and how this may have contributed to their perspective.
