Mama and Papa are very upset. Papa even says that his family has worked on a rancho since the land belonged to Mexico and was not even California. The whole family is American. Papa wants to talk to the principals to get her transferred. Mama suggests that maybe they should move back to Fresno. They keep her home from school. The principals do not side with Papa.
