This is paragragh 29: "Cognitive processes that rely on the prefrontal cortex, including many executive functions such as the ability to inhibit automatic behavior, undergo substantial and protracted development in adolescence. One of the first studies to assess the development of inhibition was carried out by Beatriz Luna at the University of Pittsburgh. Luna and her colleagues used a clever task that measures the control we have over our eye movements. If you ask someone to look at the centre of a computer screen and then flash a stimulus on one side of the screen, the person’s eyes will make an automatic movement (called a saccade) in the direction of the stimulus. This is an example of an automatic response, and it requires effort to override it. It’s a bit like a go/no-go task for eye movements. The ability to inhibit automatic eye movements develops throughout childhood and adolescence and stabilizes in early adulthood, and the prefrontal activity associated with this task also changes with age"

Reread paragraph 29. Which sentence contains the conclusions that the author draws about adolescence based on the results of the experiments? Copy and paste the sentence in the space provided. Then, explain the sentence in your own words.
Which sentence best represents the author's purpose in presenting this research information, pick A, B, C, or D?
A: Adolescents are basically the same as adults who have damage to the prefrontal cortex.
B: Brain experiments can demonstrate the effects of underdevelopment of, or damage to, specific areas of the brain.
C: With special treatment, adolescents can be made into responsible members of society.
D: Adolescents are not as good at decision-making as ordinary people.
