Think about an academic discipline (biology, psychology, history, etc.) in which you are interested. Go to your school library's databases and do a quick search for journals, magazines, or articles in the field. Skim through your search results and take some notes about things that interest you. What kinds of issues do academics in that field debate? If you were going to participate in the field, what might you want to write about, and what kind of position could you take?
