Look at the house on the east (right) side where the boundary of the cold air is overlain by the warm air. Assume the windstorm is hitting the ground just below the house and the temperature at the house is 45°F because its in the warm, westerly winds for now. How could the temperature at the house be lowered to 5°F – i.e., would the Chinook have to move upslope of the house or downslope of the house for the temperature at the house to be lowered?
