Rose is a 12-year-old female who is being evaluated for declining school performance and an increasing tendency to try to avoid going to school. Historically she has been an average student, although she has particularly struggled with writing exercises and has actually failed assignments this year. She consistently ignores rules of grammar, and her teacher says that her writing submissions look as if they were written by a much younger child.
