The EPA can require a technician to demonstrate the abilities to perform proper procedures for recovering and/or recycling refrigerant. Failure to demonstrate competency can result in
a. revocation of the technicians certification.
b. seizure of the technicians recovery/recycling equipment.
c. seizure of any refrigerant purchased by the technician that they still are in possession of.
d. mandatory attendance at refrigeration training boot camp where they will have to run in place for 8 hours/day while holding a manifold gauge set over their head.
