1. areas of the world that have the biggest, most widespread spatial distribution of high population density. (note: N America is not one of them). Then discuss these three regions separately: name the climates found in each one and identify the part of that region that has each of those climates, and summarize the temperature and precipitation of each of those climate types. 2. Of the climates you discussed in Question 1, clarify which of them has precipitation that is either seasonal (that is, alternating wet and dry. There are 3 of them if you include Am) or marginal for vegetation (that is, not an abundance, possibly due to erratic evaporation rates. There are 3 of them if you include BW). Name those climates and then identify other major parts of the world that have those types of climates. (why am I asking this? Because soon -not in this Discussion- you will be asked to consider what may happen to people in these areas if climate change alters their historic patterns -amount or seasonal occurrence of- annual precipitation) 3. The posted notes on Climate make a point of describing the natural vegetation in each climate type, and changes that humans have done to it. Economic activities and agriculture in particular are often the motivation for the changes. Currently, irrigated commercial agriculture is important in, or accelerating its move into, areas with a long hot or warm growing season. Identify at least two climate zones where this is the case, (remember: you are identifying areas where commercial agriculture using IRRIGATION is moving in!) and discuss at least one environmental and one social or economic change it is bringing about.
