Explain how the novel The Great Gatsby demonstrates the decline of the American Dream.
Although the story occurs during a time of luxury and extravagance (the 1920s), the characters cannot achieve complete happiness, even with their extreme wealth. Research and describe at least three feelings demonstrating that the American Dream cannot become a reality.
