Peristalsis-is the involuntary contraction of the smooth muscle of the gastrointestinal tract, it squesszes food along within the digestive tract. Segmentation-contractions constrict the tinttestine into segments to allow the chyme to fully mmix, they do not move food. Retroperistals-is reverse oeristalsis which causes vomiting and does not move food through the gastrointestinal tract.
Bile-is a product of the liver that is stored by the gall bladder and is able to emulsify lipids during digestion. Amylase- both salivary amylase and pancreatic amylase are enzymes that break down starch. Saliva -the enzymes contained in saliva are not able to emulsify lipids. Chyme- is the partially digested liquid in the stomach that results from the combination of digestive juices and boluses of food.
Somatic division- controls the skeletal muscles of the bosy. Autonomic division- controls the involuntary actrons on the body. Visceral divistion-is synonymous with the anutonomic division. Involuntary division- controls involuntary actions of the body. A renal vein is a blood vessel that carries blood from a kidney to the inferior vena cava.
