Two identical conducting spheres A and B carry charges Q and 2Q respectively. They are separated by a distance much larger than their diameters. A third identical conducting sphere C is uncharged. Sphere C is first touched to A, then to B, and finally removed. As a result, the electrostatic force between A and B, which was originally F, becomes (1) 5F/16 (2) F/8 (3) 3F/16 (4) F/32 (5) 7F/16
I keep getting 5F/8, which isn't even an option on here. Why is it 5F/16...?
