if we are going to actually make social security payments to the baby-boomers when they retire, then we are going to have to raise taxes, but if we are going to have a strong vibrant economy, then we cannot raise taxes. we are going to have to choose between making the social security payments we have promised of senior citizens or keeping the economy strong. hence we have to choose to raise the taxes or choose to not raise taxes
